Lane & Waterman clients benefit from the collective efforts, knowledge and experiences of a team of lawyers, legal assistants and support staff. One or more members of the firm may have primary responsibility for coordinating client services, yet each client receives the type of assistance needed, however simple or complex it may be.

Lawyers at Lane & Waterman draw upon the services and expertise of legal assistants, research clerks and information specialists, whose combined resources number almost 100 people. In addition to an extensive private law library, the firm's outstanding resources include a computer-based research system providing access to legal and other data bases in public and private libraries throughout the nation.

Lane & Waterman attorneys commit a minimum of 250 pro bono hours of legal assistance yearly to H.E.L.P. Legal Services and are involved in a variety of charitable and community activities that enrich the immediate Quad Cities area and the Iowa-Illinois region.

Lane & Waterman and its attorneys have been recognized by the Iowa and Illinois bar associations for their significant commitment to pro bono legal services. In 2006, the firm earned the John C. McAndrew Pro Bono Award, which was conferred by the Illinois State Bar Association.

The firm celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2004 with a $150,000 gift to H.E.L.P. Legal Assistance and Prairie States Legal Services, which provide free legal assistance to individuals with lower incomes. The gift is a reflection of the firm's dedication to the Iowa and Illinois Quad Cities. The firm, which is renowned for its excellence, continues to attract top law-school graduates.
